What are "V Letters," which are mentioned in Breakfast at Tiffany and co?
Seems like one word telegrams of sorts from service men? Any information or sources?
Conversations I have had with several veterans of WW2 indicate that v-mail was used for all personal written correspondence between civilians stateside and loved ones in uniform overseas. V-mail was part of the censorship process. tiffany jewelry Tiffany Earrings
Each letter was read by a censor who literally cut out with pair of scissors any word or phrase which might leak info to the enemy. A reduced photostat, on very lightweight official military paper, was then made of each censored letter. The photostats were mailed and the originals, cutout bits and all, were burned. Given how tight military security was during WW2, I should be surprised to find an original letter still in existence. In our collection, we have one v-mail letter from a Pacific Theatre medical officer to his wife. We keep in it a Hollinger envelope. |

It probably won't be too big for her, because one size fits most, and 5'3 is probably fine. She'll probably lovee you even more after you buy a $150 necklace from Tiffany's. Plus, it goes w/ anything, including jeans. |

Is sterling silver from Tiffany and co really good and does it last long?
I had bought expensive sterling silver tiffany jewelry and it didn't last long at all.
I have no idea what you mean about it lasting long, if it turned black, that's tarnish, you need good silver polish and elbow grease. It should return to it's shiny state as soon as you clean it.

Would it be strange if someone had one tiffany charm on her bracelet?
And will it also be strange if you got juicy couture charms or claire's charms on a tiffany charm bracelet with a tiffany heart charm?
It might be a lil weird if someone put a juicy charm or claire's charm on it because it is A TIFFANY bracelet.....but i dont think that it is that weird if someone only had one charm because that person wouldnt want it to be too busy and it might even have that one charm stand out more. |
